Configuring Maple

In this course, we will make extensive use of Maple to illustrate the behaviour of various numerical algorithms. In addition, all assignments and the final project are to be prepared and submitted as Maple worksheets. Virtually any version of Maple should be sufficient to do the coursework (the current version is 15), however later versions of Maple have default interface options that make it difficult to write complicated code. For this reason, I suggest you make the following changes in the Preferences (Mac OS/X) or under Tools/Options (Win 7):
  • under Display, the input display should be “Maple notation” (make sure to apply this globally)
  • under Interface, the default format for new worksheets should be “worksheet” (make sure to apply this globally)
